The Freedom to Thrive Plan
We can do better than just surviving. My campaign is built around what I call the Freedom to Thrive Plan. Freedom isn't just about protecting constitutional rights. It also means giving people a fair opportunity to build a good life… to thrive. When families can't afford childcare, seniors have to choose between medicine and groceries, or young people can't buy a home or pay for college; they are not truly free to thrive.
- Freedom from financial insecurity by lowering the cost of healthcare, childcare, housing, groceries, and prescription drugs.
- Freedom to earn a good living through higher wages, stronger unions, workforce training, and support for small businesses and family farms.
- Freedom to raise a family by expanding affordable childcare, strengthening public schools, and making higher education and skilled trades more accessible.
- Freedom to retire with dignity by protecting and strengthening Social Security and Medicare.
- Freedom to live in healthy, safe communities by investing in public safety, rural healthcare, mental health, and modern infrastructure.
- Freedom to be heard by reducing the influence of special interests and ensuring government works for the people, not powerful corporations and lobbyists.
At its core, this campaign is about restoring the promise that if you work hard, you should be able to build a secure future for yourself and your family. That's the freedom every Tennessean deserves.
Meet Jim Torino
A proud Democrat, nonprofit founder, and father of ten. Jim's passion for service has been shaped by a lifetime of leadership in business and community. As former COO of a national healthcare company, he delivered compassionate care and advocated for those whose voices are often unheard. Jim is also the founder of The Friend Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the well-being of our most vulnerable populations.
